As an addendum to my previous post, we also had Tuesday off because of subzero temperatures. Yes, two snow days in a row. Quite an unprecedented turn of events.

I was just thinking, whilst I contemplated the meaning of existence this morning, as is my daily tradition… that all of the things I love invariably disappoint me at some point or another, either by disappearing entirely or… by becoming something painful instead. And every day, I live in continual fear that one of these two things will happen.

I cannot provide the details, but there are people out there who know how to exploit this flaw of mine and therefore they torture me endlessly. And I've realized over the years that I've learned to prepare myself for such an eventuality by forcing myself to despise, or forget, if possible, those things that I love. However, forgetting is usually impossible. So in that case I begin, unconsciously, to destroy my former feelings of fondness, nostalgia, or whatever it is, and instead cast towards its way feelings of contempt and bitterness, until I truly lose whatever I attempted to bury in the first place, and have only faint, comfortless memories of what they used to be.

*sigh* *re-reads above paragraphs*

Well, that did not feel very satisfying. Nor did that feel remotely adequate. I suppose I should go drown my anxieties in a greasy bowl of beef noodles now, as lunchtime has just arrived.

For the last several years of our high school's illustrious history, the blissful two words, "Snow Day," signifying the American tradition of closing schools in times of bad winter weather, was very rarely uttered by any member of the student body except when youthful voices were raised in bitter complaint.

Such as:
Human #1: I sure hope there's a snow day tomorrow.
Human #2: … You jinxed it.

Or:
Human #1: Hey, I heard that the guy in charge of announcing snow days is from Alaska.

But now, on this glorious Sunday evening, let us raise our voices in joyous celebration.

依然范特西 (Still Fantasy) is Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou's (周杰倫) seventh studio album, officially released September 5, 2006. Because I absolutely insisted on purchasing the CD+DVD version from YesAsia.com by mail order, the CD arrived just two days ago, about three weeks after I initially made the order.

Hahaha… you just gotta love the U.S. Postal Service…

At any rate, sorry for the lateness. Just humor me and allow me to ramble on a while longer.

BoA's 2005 Korean album, Girls on Top, was an unexpected pleasure; I didn't know BoA could do hip hop! Additionally, the Chinese version of the title track also deserves ample praise. And since we're on the topic of Korea, BoA is definitely my second most favorite Korean of all time (and no. 1 favorite South Korean… needless to say, the position of most favorite Korean on the entire Korean Peninsula still belongs to Kim Jong Il, dictator and Dear Leader of North Korea).

I finished all of my exams. And we have Monday off this week. So, frittering and loitering, here we go!

Also, I've decided to remove all instances of my full name from this blog. Not because I'm primarily concerned about, uh, my safety (I doubt it was ever in jeopardy)… it's just that I Googled my name out of sheer boredom a while ago, and I was horrified by the number of crap-blogs that popped up, all claiming to be authored by my clones. There were also a fair number of doctors of the same name with intimidating-sounding titles, but that's beside the point.

For the record, my real, legal name is Jennifer. But I won't be answering to that any longer, in an effort to sever all associations with other less-educated peoples. However, you may still call me Jenny-fa.

And now I shall depart.

Ha! Just finished my computer science exam. There were three questions on computer history in there, but I know I definitely bagged the Charles Babbage one. And Herman Holarith computerized the 1890 U.S. Census, right? Didn't he?

My Spanish III exam is next, after lunch. No digan a otras personas, but I think my teacher didn't spend enough time reviewing vocabulary with us; my previous teacher last year used to show us flash cards and make us play review games all the time, but this year, while I was poring over my textbook, there were a score of words I didn't even know we covered.

I cram surprisingly well, though.

So, on another note, I ordered about four music CDs from YesAsia.com back in December, but when I checked my order's status on their site, it still read "In Process." What's keeping them, I wonder?
