DAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDY,
GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!!! My Data Structures class is so fucking hard. I mean, the concepts and material themselves are relatively simple. But the whole course is in C++, and I'm not fucking USED to the fucking language!
'Cause, you see, I was programming this one assignment in C++. I started it yesterday and I spent over six hours on it. I overestimated my programming skillz on my last homework assignment, which resulted in a nonfunctional program and me using up two of my three "grace" days for late homework. So, I was like, "Okay, I'll start working on it earlier." Which I did. And I worked pretty fucking hard. But the whole program is so fucking convoluted and long, which ended up in me racing against the clock — ONCE AGAIN — and then narrowly missing my 12:00 AM submission deadline. So, my last "grace" day is gone. And I haven't even completed the fucking program!
To my credit, however, I did figure out a bunch of new things in C++. And the program this time is mostly functional, instead of completely kaput.
Sooooooooooo, yeah. Next time I'm going to try working on the assignment a whole week before it's due. I just never imagined programming could be so fucking time-consuming.
You wanted an update, right? Here ya go. I hope you like the swear words.
By the way, please don't sound like such a pair of prissy-pants. It's bad enough that a certain high school guidance counselor writes to me that way.
Love,
Jenny-fa
P.S. Can I buy some clothes online now? As a consolatory present? @____@
Classes are okay. Professors are okay. Contrary to popular opinion, the student population really isn't that nerdy. There's a good mix of people all around. And the food is extraordinarily good, considering I used to retch at the stuff I ate at home. And Freshman Fifteen? More like Freshman Negative Five or something. Yes, I've been losing weight.
The campus is nice, but I've heard sirens from the surrounding city every day since I've been here. It makes me think of the events that occasion those emergency responders. People have also warned of a gang of preteens running around mugging people… which, I don't know… seems a little funny to me.
The Furry's been quieter than usual. I haven't heard him squeak much. He does accompany me to class and to the dining halls. He's still lovely. Davey-boy molests him, though. I'll have to do something about that.
So, in all, my depression seems well on the road to recovery.
At any rate, I did find this one tune with fitting lyrics for this period in my life ("Lost Inside" by Nemesea). I included the whole album playlist below for your listening pleasure. Trust me, it's a beautiful album. Even pop lovers should adore it.
The Furry and I will go to dinner now. See you around.
DO NOT PANIC, your dear Jenny-fa has not unexpectedly perished. To be honest, I'm losing interest in this blog and am planning to construct a better one on another domain. In the meantime, you can see that I've neglected to post for quite a while.
Anyway, my work on the new blog has been minimal at best, so it might be a while till any of you get to behold its awe-inspiring might.
So, I've been buying stuff for college. Bedsheets, blankets, toiletries, supplies, etc… and textbooks. I just crunched the numbers — sticking to used copies, if I'd ordered my books through my college bookstore, the total cost would've been $404.50 USD. However, the total, including shipping and handling, only comes out to be $233.04 when purchasing through Amazon. Which means a savings of $171.46 or roughly 42.4 percent.
Beat that, suckers.
On a related note, I enrolled in Calculus II for the fall semester. Considering the fact that I (effectually) failed calculus last year and that my head starts thumping something awful whenever I consider a simple differential equation… this could be suicide.
So… the rest of you. Where are you heading to college and when are you leaving? And what have you been doing to prepare?
Sleep eight hours, wake up refreshed, cuddle Sasha, eat peanut butter toast at one's leisure, listen to the train pass every two hours, and watch Xena: Warrior Princess nonstop. Sounds like the ideal post-high school life, no? Except, I STILL HAVE TO FINISH THAT DRATTED PICTURE BOOK. BY TOMORROW. AND WE'RE LEAVING FOR CHINA ON SATURDAY, SO I HAVE TO PACK AND ALL THAT CRAP. It's not a good time to feel unusually mellow.
Oh, dear. My heart feels like it's stopped again. Cut it out.
And now there's a thunderstorm.
- Listening to: The Xena theme song's stuck in my head.
This Tuesday is the last day of school, and yet I still have to write my short story, complete those dratted outlines, and create a fucking picture book by cutting a whole lot of paper. I also need to finish a calculus project, but hopefully Jacky will take care of it. Ahem.
I told myself last Friday that I'd get a head start.
And, well… just look where that got me.
On the other hand, the season finale of Legend of the Seeker was… fantastic! And Bridget Regan, the actress who plays Kahlan Amnell, is indisputably beautiful.

However, Denna, the Mord-Sith introduced in the eighth episode, has got to be one of the coolest and sexiest characters on television.

Yes, the skin-tight leather and the torture are very… bondage-esque. But undeniably hot.

You have also got to see Denna's dungeon scene with Richard Cypher.
I must say… I do have quite the impeccable taste.
