| OBAMA IS ELECTED PRESIDENT

NBC has called the election. Images of shouting and cheering crowds are playing across every television channel. Shouting, cheering, crying… this feeling is unreal. Can I believe this? Is this a dream? I can't believe it. I'm so happy I could cry…

Electoral story

Current electoral count by NBC's reckoning:
Obama: 333
McCain: 156

McCain is giving his concession speech right now. Acknowledged the historic implications of Obama's presidency and all. Here's more photos and a slideshow of tonight's events. Also shown are photos of expectant and celebrating Americans abroad, in foreign embassies… bars… and crestfallen Republicans… tonight is a beautiful thing. An unforgettable moment in history. Really.

Also a moving retrospection from an American voter.

Update: The world reacts to Obama's victory.

Admittedly, John McCain did give a very gracious concession speech; the audience members, on the other hand, were complete dipshits. I almost feel bad that he ran for Presidency at such an inopportune time, when the Republican Party has fallen into complete disrepute. He's a decent person and candidate. And dude, his 90-something-year-old mother looks really good, seriously. I was expecting her to be catatonic or in a wheelchair dribbling saliva onto herself or something, but she looks absolutely amazing and rather young.

    Anyhow… OBAMAAAAA! MOTHERFUCKING YES!

Holy ****, my Polite-ifier filter didn't get "motherfucking."

Yes, John McCain conceding was John McCain's best moment. He used to be a respectable candidate until he won the nomination and started pandering to the religious right. But even so, the GOP shouldn't have even nominated a candidate. You'd think that they'd finally grow a brain and recognize that they've done enough damage.

Obama is giving his acceptance speech right now. To a crowd of tens of thousands. As compared to the several hundred present at McCain's. Heh. I can't imagine how I'll feel tomorrow. I'll probably be so happy that I'd be able to smile through that Kaggy woman's meeting.

Yes- I loved McCain's speech… he was lovely.
I think he wanted to probably punch the dudes that booed in the guts and cry for his loss after trying so hard, but he delivered it with emotion and dignity.

    And Obama. Oh, Obama. lol.

There was a riot on the mall of my university. I wanted to go see, but I missed it after the police disbursed it. Boo.
